The history of men and trees: Fortitude and Rul Verda
will take place on March 20, 2011, starting at 9 am from Town Hall Square Verrua of Savoy, a walk-historical nature loop, organized by the Chamber in collaboration with CAI Foglizzo Cultural Association "La Rocca" Verrua Savoy.
From the square of the Municipality of Verrua (location Valentino) Monticelli you reach the village where one can enjoy the majestic arch of the western Alps and great view of the Po Valley.
Collegno will then proceed to the village (home to the headquarters of Marshal Vendome during the siege of the Fortress Verrua 1704/05), then, again on a dirt road, you pass through forests typical hills, an area yet quiet and natural, where you can admire the beautiful spring blooms of Pulmonary, dogtooth, primroses, violets, periwinkles, and with a little 'luck, the rare and precious orchids, etc.. It will arrive shortly after, to admire the beautiful and valuable example of oak-cork Verrua known as the "Rul Verda" (true rarity botany) growing, majestic location in the Cross of the Pope The path continues through some typical villages verruesi which Scandolera, Cervoto, Longagnano and Monte, where we will stop for lunch.
We will continue on the paved road (no traffic) to the village of Hamor and House Bila, until you reach the starting point.
The group of walkers will move then to the Fortress to witness the representation of historical re-enactment and a guided tour.
